NORTHAMPTON — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Tuesday at the Cumberland Farms on King Street.
According to Northampton Police, a male suspect entered the store at 134 King St. at around 3:40 a.m., displayed a black handgun and demanded money from a clerk.
The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
The suspect was described by police as being light skinned and about 6-feet-tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black hoodie with a green piece of clothing that covered a portion of his face.

Meanwhile, Belchertown Police are investigating robberies at two convenience stores last weekend on Federal Street.
Officers responded to Dwight Station Mini Mart, 1066 Federal St., shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, where a dark-skinned male, who wore a mask, flannel shirt and jeans, showed, the clerk a black gun and demanded cash from the register.
The second robbery was reported at the Sunoco Station at 122 Federal St. Police said three darker skinned males entered the business while masked and gloved. One appeared to be wearing a grayish sweatshirt with a hood while another suspect was wearing a backpack that contained an acetylene torch.
