The Belchertown girls basketball team is back in the postseason.
Samantha Birks scored a career-high 12 points and added eight rebounds as the Orioles beat East Longmeadow, 57-47, on the road Friday to qualify.
Kayla Henry led Belchertown (10-1) with 16 points.
Cara McKenzie scored eight points, grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked eight shots.
Hopkins Academy 54, Easthampton 31 — Sam Jenks’ 23 points helped the Golden Hawks beat the Eagles in Easthampton.
Allison Kowal-Safron had nine points with two 3-pointers for Hopkins (8-3, 1-0 Franklin North)
Juli Korza led Easthampton (5-6, 0-1) with nine points.
Granby 29, Monson 21 — In a game where offense was hard to come by, Nora Young came through for the Rams (6-4, 1-1 Central) in the road win.
Young had 13 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks.
Julia Frappier grabbed eight rebounds for Granby, limiting Monson’s second chance opportunities.
Northampton 54, Minnechaug 37 — Lauraine Joensen had 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Blue Devils jumped out to a 30-13 halftime edge and rolled past the Falcons in Wilbraham.
Amanda Mieczkowski added 16 points and five assists for Northampton (9-2), which needs one win to qualify for postseason.
Southwick 40, Smith Academy 16 — Vanessa Skawski and Emma Kelly each scored four points as the Falcons (5-7) fell on the road.
Putnam 61, Smith Voke 36 — Double doubles for Stephanie Start and Sydney Cyr were not enough for Smith Voke (5-7) as the Vikings lost on the road.
Cyr led the Vikings with 20 points, to go along with 11 rebounds, while Start tallied 12 points and 11 boards.
Start is nine points away from 1,000 points, which she could reach on Monday at home against Westfield Tech. Start would be the team’s first 1,000 point scorer.
Frontier Regional 44, Athol 39 — Lisa Portier led the Red Hawks (4-6) with 11 points and Helena Diaz tallied 10 points.
Marie Diemand sunk a pair of 3-pointers.
Granby 48, Frontier Regional 34 — Noah Bleakley (17 points) and Zach Gorham (10 points) were in double figures for the Rams in a road win over the Red Hawks.
Mike Sosa added nine points for Granby (8-3).
Ben Lowe had 13 points for the Red Hawks (3-8) with three 3-pointers.
Pioneer Valley Christian 31, Smith Vocational 30 — Luis Acosta hit three 3-pointers for nine points, but the Vikings lost at home.
Tyler Top added six points for the Vikings (2-8, 1-8 Tri County).
Easthampton 68, Southwick 61 — Ant Moynihan led the Eagles with 21 points in a key Bi-County road win Thursday.
Moynihan had a game-high three 3-pointers. Zach Crisafulli had 14 points, while Sopie Pek added 11 for Easthampton (4-6, 3-2).
