Most nights the Granby girls basketball team’s defense will keep it in games.
The Rams win when they can work out the offensive end, like they did Monday in a 45-25 road win at Palmer.
“Defensively we have to play really well, hold teams down,” Granby coach Tom Burke said. “We made them work really hard for their points.”
Nora Young led the way with 21 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks.
Kaeleigh Croteau added nine points with two 3-pointers.
Mallory Beauregard contributed four points but also added five assists and three steals.
Greenfield 68, Smith Academy 20 — The Falcons fell behind 16-3 after the first and couldn’t climb out of the early hole.
Liv Cavanaugh led Smith (5-8, 1-6 Franklin South) with six points on a pair of 3-pointers.
