Monday’s high school basketball: Katy O’Connor nearly gets quadruple-double in Hampshire girls basketball’s win

Katy O’Connor came close to a quadruple double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, eight blocks and eight steals for the Hampshire Regional girls basketball team in a 73-47 win over Palmer, Monday in Westhampton.

Katelyn Pickunka had a career-high 25 points, while Caroline O’Connor added 12 points for Hampshire (11-3, 2-1 Central).

Franklin Tech 37, Smith Voke 30 — Stephanie Start led all scorers with 11 points, but the Vikings lost at home.

Sydney Cyr scored eight points with a 3-pointer for Smith Voke (6-9).

Mahar 64, Granby 32 — Nora Young scored 18 points with 10 rebounds but the Rams (7-7) couldn’t stay with Senators on the road.

Mallory Beauregard dished out five assists for Granby.

Pioneer 57, Smith Academy 35 — Emma Kelly matched a career-high with 13 points for the Falcons in a road loss to the Panthers.

Mary Whalen chipped in with eight points for Smith Academy (6-9).

Sabis 50, Amherst Regional 38 — The Hurricanes had two players in double-figures but lost their 11th straight in Springfield.

Erin Klaes had 17 points while Petea Mukimba added 12 for Amherst (1-11).

Sci-Tech 46, Gateway 19 — Becca Herman scored five points in a home loss for the Gators (4-9, 1-3 Tri County North).

Lee 51, Hopkins Academy 26 —The Golden Hawks fell behind 17-2 after the first quarter and couldn’t pull even against the perennial power.

Samantha Jenks led Hopkins (8-5) with 12 points.

Boys basketball

Northampton 54, East Longmeadow 41 — The Blue Devils’ defense was stingy once again in a home win over the Spartans.

The offense came from Henry Doherty (11 points) and Elijah Davis (nine points).

Will O’Connor grabbed nine rebounds for Hamp (11-3, 3-1 Valley Wheel).
