Margaret O’Connell, of Amherst Regional, finished fifth in the girls slalom at the fourth PVIAC alpine ski race, Thursday at Berkshire East in Charlemont.

She completed the course in 27.72 seconds, leading the Hurricanes to a second-place finish in the South Division at 118.85.

Gateway Regional’s Jessica Garriepy was just behind her at 27.87, and the Gators were fourth in the North.

Coriann Delaney was ninth for Frontier in 28.25, while the Red Hawks were third in the South at 123.77.

Georgie Von Furth led Northampton to a second-place finish in the North in 13th at 28.6.

On the boys side, Jack Denhart took fifth for Northampton in the slalom at 33.96 seconds. The Blue Devils were third in the North at 172.93.

Gateway was third in the north at 164.29 led by Zachary Ames in 16th.

Niko Christakos took 12th for Amherst in 37.16, and the Hurricanes were fourth in 172.96.
