NORTHAMPTON — More winter weather is fast on the heels of the storm that brought as much as 18 inches of snow to parts of the state.

Expect the potential for rain and snow on Saturday with up to half-an-inch of snow accumulation. The temperature high throughout the weekend is expected to hover around 37 degrees.

Then it’s time to yet again hunker down, as “6 or more” inches of snow is expected between Sunday and Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. A winter storm watch is in effect for Sunday morning and will last through Monday morning.

The forthcoming winter weather already has event planners rescheduling. Sunday’s planned Founders Day Celebration in Amherst, for example, has been moved to Feb. 26 given the forecast.
