NORTHAMPTON — A pair of motorists escaped a two vehicle collision without injury Tuesday night, police say.
Capt. John Cartledge said a vehicle traveling along Route 66 toward the center of town ran a red light at the intersection with Florence Road at about 11:15 p.m., striking another motorist. The front end of the former vehicle caught fire after the collision, he said.
It suffered minor fire damage before local firefighters extinguished the blaze, Cartledge said.
The collision remains under investigation, according to authorities. No arrests have been made or charges yet filed. They did not release the make and model of the vehicles involved.
