State Auditor Suzanne Bump will be speaking at two separate events this Friday at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Bump will first give a free talk at 2 p.m. in room S340 of the university’s Life Sciences Lab, where she’ll discuss her work — including efforts to improve public trust in government — and how it affects public policy. The event is open to the public.
Then, at 6 p.m., Bump will give the keynote address at the Women in Public Service Workshop dinner reception at the Marriot Center, hosted by UMass Women into Leadership. She will be talking about her career and the lessons it has taught her.
Bump, a former state representative and Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development, is the first woman to be elected state auditor in Massachusetts history.
