NORTHAMPTON — A jury Monday found a Chicopee man guilty of carrying out a bank robbery just over two years ago at a South Hadley bank.

Taylor A. Dziczek was convicted in Hampshire Superior Court on a single count of unarmed robbery after a jury deliberated for two hours.

Authorities say Dziczek walked into the Easthampton Savings Bank, 605 Granby Road, on March 11, 2015, ordered a teller to empty her drawer, then fled.

Surveillance footage, shown to jurors during the trial, which spanned about three days, show a man with his face concealed wearing a black sweatshirt and gray pants.

While he made off with about $5,700 cash, he was apprehended by police a short while later in a gray 2011 Hyundai Elantra sedan, police said.

This was the first robbery reported at any of the bank’s branches since 1949, said Easthampton Savings Bank President and CEO Matthew S. Sosik in 2015.
