HATFIELD — Eversource Energy crews were working to restore power Monday to customers left in the dark after a utility pole failed.
Michael Durand, an Eversource spokesman, said the outage occurred at about 9 a.m. Monday morning. He said 280 customers were affected but that power was restored within an hour to all but 18 customers.
Durand said a connection point for wires on a pole near Dwight and Elm streets failed, causing the outage. He added technology rerouting power around the damage allowed the company to restore power to most customers within the hour.
He said the rest of the Eversource customers should have power back by 3 p.m.
