The last time South Hadley faced Belchertown in girls tennis, the Tigers left the court with the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament runner-up trophy.
On Monday, they left with just a win.
South Hadley held off host Belchertown, 3-2, in both teams’ season opener.
South Hadley won second and third singles, as well as first doubles.
At second singles, Hayley Werenski defeated Emily Hamparian 1-6, 6-4, 7-5, while at third singles Kaylin Cousineau beat Kate Assimus, 6-2, 6-1.
At first doubles, Aislin Ford and Hanna Dohrouge topped Julia Morgado and Nicole Sterste, 6-2, 6-4.
Belchertown’s Jordyn Paul beat Caroline Robitaille 6-1, 6-2 at first singles.
Olivia Duclos and Eliza Smith beat Sarah Picard and Emma Parenteau 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 at second doubles for the Orioles.
Tantasqua 15, Northampton 7 — Henry Attias had two goals and two assists in a season-opening loss.
Evan Moulton added two goals and an assist for the Blue Devils (0-1).
Tyler Allcroft scored and had an assist, while Henry Higgins and Keanan Bradley found the net. Ryan Duval made four saves.
Tantasqua 12, South Hadley 11 — Sarah Lacey scored four goals, but the Tigers fell in their season opener.
Julia Miele had a hat trick, and Marley Medina chipped in two goals and an assist for South Hadley (0-1).
Taylor Roy and Natalie Patruno found the net, and Hanna Kopec.
East Longmeadow 3, Belchertown 2 — Drew Duqette had 18 kills in a 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 19-25, 15-9 loss to open the season.
Jacob Woodock led the team with 30 assists and added two aces and two kills. Nathan Wright made nine kills and a block for Belchertown (0-1).
