Ryan Lever had a two-run homer in the first inning and a three-run homer in the second as the UMass baseball team crushed Central Connecticut Tuesday.

The Minutemen snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 15-0 win in New Britain, Connecticut.

Lever finished 3-for-4 with six RBIs and three runs scored.

Cooper Mrowka (three runs) was 3-for-4, while Dylan Robinson and Nolan Kessinger each had two hits.

Kevin Hassett struck out three over six innings for the win.

Men’s lacrosse

Amherst 15, Connecticut College 15 (OT) — Chris Albanese scored with 1 minute remaining in the second overtime as the Mammoths won at Gooding Field.

Colin Minicus scored with 5:25 remaining to force overtime.

Albanese and Minicus (five assists) each had four goals for the Mammoths (9-3, 5-2 NESCAC).

Women’s lacrosse

Amherst 13, Connecticut College 2 — Katherine Malone had three goals, while Kelly Karczewski and Hannah Fox each had two as the Mammoths (5-6, 2-5 NESCAC) won on the road.
