WESTHAMPTON — Massachusetts State Police and local officers are investigating a home invasion at 33 Montague Road.
The Northwestern district attorney’s office said that multiple intruders entered the residence at around 4:30 a.m. One resident was later transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during an altercation with the intruders, the district attorney’s office said.
Authorities do not believe this was a random incident, or that there is any ongoing public safety threat.
Little else is known about the incident, though officials said further details will be released when available.
Reporters were told to stay well away from the scene and at least one nearby dirt road was declared off-limits by law enforcement. Officers from both agencies were seen entering and exiting the white house Friday morning. At least half a dozen law enforcement vehicles were parked near the home as of about 7:30 a.m.
No arrests have been made. The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office and Westhampton Police.
