NORTHAMPTON — A Northampton woman has denied charges she robbed two men at knifepoint and then misled police about the incident.

Ahmyee Lamoureux, 32, pleaded not guilty Monday in Hampshire Superior Court to three counts of armed robbery, one count of misleading a police officer and one count of making a false report to a police officer.

Assistant Northwestern District Attorney Jayme Parent laid out the details of the charges for Judge Mary-Lou Rup. Parent said Lamoureux called police to report that two individuals in her apartment stole $70 and Suboxone from her purse and then left on foot. The two people were later located individually and told police they were robbed at knifepoint by Lamoureux.

Lamoureux’s attorney Alan Rubin told the judge it was a “travesty” that the charges had made it to superior court as charges from the incident had previously been dropped in district court.

In the district court case, Rubin said, the two alleged victims had invoked their right to not answer questions that could incriminate them. Two charges of attempted larceny of a person were dismissed.

Lamoureux was incarcerated for two months on the lower court charges.

In court Monday afternoon, Lamoureux was released on personal recognizance with the condition that she stay away and have no contact with the two alleged victims.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for June.
