Ben Arnold singled in the fifth inning to drive in Connor Waitkus to give the Frontier Regional baseball team a 1-0 win over Hopkins Academy Tuesday in Hadley.

Waitkus walked, stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. The single blooped over Hopkins’ shortstop and fell out of the Golden Hawks diving left fielder’s glove.

Kalen Evans picked up the win in relief for Frontier (6-2, 2-0 Hampshire West). He struck out three and allowed just two hits with no walks in five innings.

Noah Scanlon-Dean, Trevor Fil, Justin Butterfield and Jack Feltovic all hit singles for Hopkins (3-5, 0-2).

Jon Morrison pitched for the Golden Hawks, allowing just one hit in a complete-game loss. He struck out seven and walked eight.

“You could feel he didn’t have his best stuff today,” Hopkins coach Dan Vreeland said.

Mohawk 12, Easthampton 3 — Nathan Morse had two hits and an RBI in a road loss for the Eagles (1-6, 0-2 Hampshire East).

Hampshire Regional 5, Monson 1 — Senior Ben Fitzpatrick tossed a complete game with no earned runs in a road win for the Raiders.

Fitzpatrick gave up two hits, struck out four and didn’t allow a walk.

Camden Kelly led the offense with three hits and four RBIs while Steve Moussette went 2-for-4 for Hampshire.

Fitzpatrick added a couple hits for Hampshire (4-6).

Smith Vocational 9, Sci-Tech 2 — Hunter Brooks had two doubles and three runs scored in a home win for the Vikings (6-4).

Ryan York had three hits, while Matt Hewes and Aidan Pike each scored two runs.
