AMHERST — Just over two weeks ago Town Manager Paul Bockelman used his Twitter feed to publicize damage to a sign at the downtown Starbucks location, and to find out how soon it might be repaired.
Now, two days before the commencement ceremony at the University of Massachusetts, Bockelman learned that the sign at the 71 North Pleasant St., depicting a crowned green mermaid, was being fixed.
Bockelman put out a new tweet and photo Wednesday afternoon showing a worker on a ladder seemingly repairing the circular sign.
In his tweet, he praised the corporation for moving quickly.
“Thanks, @Starbucks for fixing your sign! Just in time for graduations at @UMassAmherst @AmherstCollege and @hampshirecolg.”
