NORTHAMPTON — Twice in recent weeks women reported seeing a naked man displaying himself in downtown Northampton.

Police, unable to identify any suspects, remain unsure if one or two men are responsible and if the two incidents are related.

The first incident took place just after midnight on May 5, when officers were dispatched to Smith College’s John M. Greene Hall. Two female victims reported that a nude man had appeared from behind bushes on Gothic Street. They described the man as a white male with short dark hair, somewhere between 30 and 40 years old.

On Saturday, another incident occured outside the post office in Northampton. At approximately 10:57 p.m., a 26-year-old female reported seeing a naked male run into view near the PVTA stop on Bridge Street.

The suspect — identified as a white male with dark hair, aged 20 to 35 — sprinted away eastbound down Bridge Street.

In both cases, officers were unable to find the suspect, according to  Northampton Detective Sgt. Victor Caputo.

An investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
