The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority Police arrested a Hadley man Thursday at South Station in Boston on a charge of indecent assault and battery, according to the agency.

Police reported that transit police officers heard a disturbance at around 1:40 p.m. near a restaurant at the station. While responding to the scene, they were met by a woman who reported that she was indecently assaulted by a man, later identified as Reginald Madison, 27, of Hadley, while seated at table near a Dunkin’ Donuts.

Police said that while the alleged victim drew attention to what was happening, Madison allegedly walked away in the direction of the fare gates where he proceeded to evade paying a fare by “piggybacking” in behind a paying customer, according to MBTA transit police.

The alleged victim then pointed out Madison, who police caught and arrested on a charge of indecent assault and battery.
