Asparagus Fest

The WGBY Asparagus Festival, which takes place on the Hadley Town Common June 3, will feature food, live music, booths and games, along with a Chef’s Spearit Lunch and craft beer tastings.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is free, but a $5 donation is suggested.

Tickets are available online at http://wgby.org/asparagus/lunch for the multi-course Spearit Lunch, which will be preceded by a reception at 12:30 p.m. The meal will consist of asparagus-themed dishes from five area chefs: Jake Perkins, Eastside Grill, Northampton; Tom Schnapp, Osteria Vespa, Amherst; Jonathon Adler, sevenstrong, Northampton and Matthias Accurso, University Club & Restaurant, Amherst.

Each course will feature paired wines from State Street Wines and Spirits in Northampton. Dessert will incorporate Flayvors of Cook Farm’s special “Hadley Grass” ice cream.

The craft beer tent will serve craft brews from five local breweries along with local cider and wine. A $20 ticket will buy up to 25 tasting pours. Tickets are available at wgby.org/beer.

Food booths and food trucks also will be on hand.
