The Audubon Society has reported a variety of recent bird sightings in western Massachusetts.
A brant, 23 white-winged scoters, a golden-winged warbler and a gray-cheeked thrush were seen at the southern end of the Quabbin Reservoir.
Seven black-bellied plover, two semi-palmated plover, and a lesser scaup were reported in Turners Falls, and 24 red crossbills were found in Montague.
Acadian flycatchers were seen in Sunderland and Granville. And olive-sided flycatchers were found in Belchertown, East Lonmeadow, Williamstown and Pittsfield. A golden-winged warbler was also seen in Williamstown.
A common gallinule was reported in Longmeadow, and mourning warblers in Hampden and New Marlboro.
An upland sandpiper was seen at Westover Air Reserve Base, and grasshopper sparrows were reported in Westfield and Southwick.
A brant, 10 white-winged scoters, a red-breasted merganser and a Bonaparteโs gull were seen on Onota Lake in Pittsfield., and two white-winged scoters were reported in Otis.
A northern saw-whet owl was found in the town of Washington.
