Tim Fay had more hits than he gave up and scored more runs than he surrendered as Easthampton beat West Side, 9-1, Thursday in West Springfield.

Fay allowed just one hit to earn the win, but he had to work around seven walks in his five innings of work. He helped his cause with three hits and scored three times.

Brandon Bennet added a single, a double and an RBI.

Girls golf

Northamptonโ€™s Caitlin Richmond finished tied for 17th in the MIAA State Girls Golf Tournament, Wednesday at Heritage Country Club in Charlton.

Richmond, who just graduated shot a 93, which was 21 over par and 15 behind champion Gabrielle Smith of Concord Carlisle.
