Trading improved health insurance for tax cut

The fraud perpetrated on the American people by Republicans is now clear.

After 60-plus votes over eight years to eliminate the Affordable Care Act, it is now clear that they lack the intellectual horsepower to either revise or improve health care for the American people. They again are specializing in โ€œundoing.โ€

The Senate sequestered a small group, avoided input from others, and came out with a version that promises โ€œaccessโ€ to care that covers less but costs more. That is touted as โ€œfreedom.โ€

House and Senate Republicans have really declared war on the poor, of which 40 percent are children. Apparently they donโ€™t deserve help and the contributions to society they would make if healthy are not needed.

Our willfully ignorant president is not the only problem. The 1 percent have now taken command and the overwhelming support for meaningful health care insurance improvement is being traded for a massive tax cut for the โ€œhaves.โ€
