On July 10, your new “Commerce Corner” series confidently predicted that Northampton’s “Downtown ready for next golden age.”
But it won’t be a “golden age” unless the “silver screen” is brought back into town. We desperately need a movie theater in downtown Northampton. We used to have two. Alas, now we have none.
Movies every night would bring many people into town and also supply a stream of customers to local restaurants and bars. I wish the new businesses good luck, but none of them can do what a movie theater can. Chamber of Commerce and entrepreneurs — are you listening?
