Florence Road traffic noise a nuisance

I am a retired longtime resident of Florence Road, 56 years to be exact. I am trying to relax on my front porch — quite difficult and getting worse.

The problem is the flow of particular traffic. I have caravans of 18-wheel dump trucks, tractor trailers, and landscapers passing by all day long. That wouldn’t normally be problematic, except for the condition of the road. This road was paved upwards of 40 years ago, and since has had many gas and water services added, again all good. Except now those ruts have sunk and broken apart, thus creating the horrendous noises. The big trucks are “kaboom,” the other vehicles cause a loud “bam.” This is continual all day long.

If the traffic can’t be reduced, could the road ruts be repaired? I see many new road projects planned, thanks to government gifts to the city.

Mr. Mayor, take a ride down the road one day, particularly the intersection of Florence and Burts Pit roads. I’m sure it will be memorable.
