I am blessed with good health and do my best to take care of myself. I exercise regularly, eat healthy, pray daily, and have a very positive attitude.
And as sometimes happens to people, even when doing “the right stuff” most of the time, undesirable things can happen. In the past three months I have had two medical procedures at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and received nothing short of outstanding, competent, compassionate care. I want to thank doctors Charles Mick, Edward Patton and David Chernock for their excellent care. The nurses in the surgical day unit and on the third-floor north wing at the Kittredge Surgery Center were wonderful.
And I want to mention the often overlooked unsung heroes: Junior, who each time he came to clean my room made me smile and laugh, and Mary at the switchboard, who makes my day with her friendly hello and warm manner.
I am thankfully recovering well and count my blessings that my health problems were treatable. I am deeply grateful to have been cared for so well in our local community hospital.
