I could love county fairs without the animals. I don’t like to see animals confined, objectified, exploited and commodified, and that is exactly what we find at county fairs.
Their care and surroundings are most often “prettified” at fairs, giving the false impression that this is what their lives are like back home.
That is why I won’t be attending the Three County Fair in Northampton in early September.
