The Belchertown boys soccer team rallied with three second-half goals to open the season with a 3-2 win over Hampshire Regional, Tuesday in Westhampton.

Jarod Bolton, Maxin Caron and Ben Laclair found the net for the Orioles (1-0).

Gus Brasil put the Raiders (0-1) on the board in the first half assisted by Griffin Craig.

Justin Szwajkowski found Aidan White for Hampshire’s second goal.

Sean McCarthy stopped five shots for Belchertown, while Mike McColgan made seven saves for Hampshire.

Granby 4, Ware 0 — The Rams got off to a fast start to 2017, building a 3-0 halftime en route to the road win.

Dylan Moriarty scored twice, while Ryan Shaw (assist) added a goal in the first half. An own goal accounted for the final tally.

Mike McGreevy and Mitch L’Abbee each had one assist, while Ryan Walz made five saves for the shutout.

Southwick 4, Easthampton 0 — Drew Caires stopped three shots, and Joe Brough made one save for the Eagles.

Nick Soucy, Chris Williams and Anthony Soucy had opportunities on goal for Easthampton (0-1).

South Hadley 3, Sabis 2 — Freshman Liam Joy scored twice in his varsity debut for the Tigers (1-0).

Ryan Gage added a goal, while Declan Joy, Max McCurdy and Gabe Kovacs had assists.

It was South Hadley’s highest scoring output in a single game since October 2015.

Xavier Butzer stopped 14 shots.

Girls soccer

Hopkins Academy 2, Easthampton 0 — Eighth-grader Tia Syden scored her first varsity goal in the second half of the Golden Hawks’ win.

She was assisted by Sam Jenks, who converted a penalty in the first half.

Miranda Pitta made eight saves for Hopkins (1-0).

Lily Pioli made 13 saves for Easthampton (0-1).

Northampton 4, East Longmeadow 2 — Emma Tanner started the season with a hat trick and an assist for the Blue Devils in a win.

Brigitte Goeler-Slough had the Blue Devils’ other goal and added an assist.

Caroline Tanner and Bailey Maurer dished out assists for Northampton (1-0) and Sydney White made seven saves.

Smith Academy 6, McCann Tech 0 — Olivia Niedbala scored four times and added an assist in the Falcons’ season-opening road win.

Hannah Rickert also scored twice with an assist.

Gabby Tisdale made 10 saves for the shutout.

Maggie Hession had two assists and Haley Springman had one for Smith Academy (1-0, 1-0 Pioneer South).

Ludlow 7, Amherst 0 — Reilly Lepak made seven saves but the Lions were too much for the Hurricanes at home.

Hannah Keochakian and Kari Little played well in the loss for Amherst (0-1).

Frontier Regional 5, Pope Francis 2 — The Red Hawks (1-0) scored three unanswered goals in the second half to pull away at home.

Cambrie Hamilton had two goals and an assist for Frontier. Natalie Denkiewicz assisted on three goals with a goal of her own.

Meghan Self and Makayla Santos scored their first varsity goals for Frontier.

Lexa Boyden made five saves in net.

Gateway Regional 3, Athol 0 — Rebecca Herman got the shutout, and Jessica Van Heynigen had a hat trick in the road win for the Gators (1-0).

Herman made three saves.

Van Heynigen scored on a penalty kick to start the scoring then headed in a corner kick from Juliana Dickinson to make it 2-0.

Gateway led 1-0 at half.
