Elijah Ngbokoli added 78 yards and a score.

The Mammoths (2-0) played two quarterbacks, and Ollie Eberth led them with 101 yards passing.

Amherstโ€™s defense held Hamilton to 36 yards rushing and recovered three fumbles.

Amherst 1, Williams 1 (2OT) โ€” Cutler Coleman scored in the second half Saturday to salvage a road point for the Mammoths on Saturday.

Lee Owens made two saves, and Kofi Hope-Gund stopped three shots.

UMass 3, Hartford 0 โ€” Jack Fulton scored in the first half, while Davis Smith and Conrad Gorich found the net after halftime Saturday.

Matthew Mooney had two assists, while Henry Steinkamp and Belchertownโ€™s Alex DeSantis added one.

Gorich converted on a free kick for UMass (5-2-2).

Bardia Asefina didnโ€™t need to make nay saves to keep the clean sheet

Amherst 5, Pine Manor 0 โ€” Five Mammoths scored in a home win Sunday.

Felix Wu, Jimmy McMillan, Kyle Kelly, Jack Oโ€™Brien and Dane Lind found the net.

Oโ€™Brien, Michael Saks, Andres Pascual-Leone, Matteo Mangiardi and Christopher Lewis dished out assists for Amherst (2-1-1).

Hope-Gund made two saves for the shutout.

Womenโ€™s soccer

Wellesley 1, Mount Holyoke 0 โ€” Amanda Manaster made 10 saves, but the Lyons (2-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) lost on the road Saturday.

MIT 6, Smith 0 โ€” Shelby Hall made 11 saves, and Julia Donovan had six for the Pioneers (4-3, 1-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday.

Williams 3, Amherst 2 โ€” Hannah Guzzia and Rubii Tamen scored, but it wasnโ€™t enough for the Mammoths (0-3, 0-2 NESCAC) on Saturday.

Delancey King, Hayley Roy and Claire Nam had assists, while Chelsea Cutler made two saves for Amherst.

Connecticut College 3, Amherst 2 โ€” Guzzi found the net twice Sunday, but the Mammoths (0-4) lost their fourth straight game.

Rubii Tamen assisted on both goals. Cutler made four saves.

Fordham 3, UMass 2 โ€” Erin Doster scored first, and Sini Laaksonen scored last, but the Rams found the net three times in between Sunday.

Cassidy Babin made one save, while Sarah Beaulieu added an assist for the Minutewomen (4-5-1, 1-1 A-10).

Menโ€™s cross country

Purple Valley Classic โ€”Amherst was third in the team race with 109 points led by sophomore Clark Ricciardelli in fourth at 26 minutes, 11.9 seconds.

SUNY Geneseo won the team title with 87 points.

Womenโ€™s cross country

Codfish Invite โ€” Smithโ€™s Karena Garcia finished 19th at 20:27, while Corrin Moss of Moutn Holyoke was 38th (20:54).

Smith finished seventh as a team, and the Lyons were 10th.

Purple Valley Classic โ€” Kristina Ratliff ran to 27th in 23:49, and the Mammoths finished 11th as a team.

Golf

MHC Invitational โ€” Amherstโ€™s Isabelle Ouyang shot a 78 to lead the Mammoths to third as a team. She tied for 11th individually.

Mount Holyokeโ€™s Susan Lee tied for 17th with an 80, and the Lyons were ninth.

Field hockey

MIT 4, Mount Holyoke 2 โ€” Sophie Perekslis scored twice in a loss for the Lyons (5-3, 1-1 NEWMAC) on Saturday.

Kristina Ramsden assisted on one, while Morgan Turner made two saves.

Smith 2, Wellesley 0 โ€” Julia Hamilton and Jenna Tampon scored on either side of halftime for the Pioneers on Saturday.

Caroline Labriola assisted Hamilton in the frist half, while Cameo Tietje made eight saves for Smith (3-4, 2-0 NEWMAC).

Amherst 3, Williams 2 (OT) โ€” Elizabeth Turnbull netted her second goal of the game in overtime for the winner Saturday.

Kendall Codey tied the game at 1 at 29:03.

Laura Schwartzman assisted Codey, while Codey and Caroline Feeley had assists on Turnbullโ€™s second goal.

Emilie Flamme made eight saves.

UMass 2, Lock Haven 1 โ€” Sarah Hawkshaw completed the comeback Sunday, scoring in the second half with an assist from Anne Dijkstra.

Melanie Kreusch tied the game at 1 in the first half after Lock Haven scored first.

Emily Hazard made one save for UMass (7-3).

Womenโ€™s volleyball

Emerson 3, Mount Holyoke 0 โ€” Sasha Simine led the Lyons with seven kills in a 25-20, 25-15, 25-15 loss Saturday. Melissa Steward and Brayden Walden each had 10 assists, while Isabelle Linde made nine digs.

Babson 3, Smith 0; Smith 3, Framingham State 0 โ€” Frontier Regional grad Emily Woodward led the Beavers in a 25-10, 25-11, 25-18 win Saturday.

Caeligh Johnson had 11 kills and six blocks for the Pioneers (7-6), as they beat the Rams 25-17, 25-20, 25-18. Jody Huang dished out 29 assists, while Helena Wiatrowski made 15 digs.

Amherst 3, Husson 0; Amherst 3, Colby Sawyer 0 โ€” The Mammoths improved to 9-3 after two sweeps, beating Husson 25-4, 25-6, 25-16 and Colby Sawyer 25-11, 25-21, 25-10.

Cameron Hendricks tallied 13 kills in each match.

Adelaide Shunk had 10 digs and 17 assists against Husson, while Charlotte Duran dished out 38 between the two contests.
