A spot in the United Soccer Coaches poll is the latest milestone for the UMass men’s soccer team, which is unbeaten in its last 10 games.

The Minutemen were ranked No. 25 in the rankings that came out Tuesday.

UMass is 11-2-3 overall and leads the Atlantic 10 at 5-0-1. The Minutemen beat Rhode Island and Dayton last week.

UMass has two regular season games remaining — Saturday at George Mason and Nov. 1 vs. Fordham at home.

The eight-team Atlantic 10 Tournament begins Nov. 4 at campus sites. The semifinals and finals are at Dayton beginning Nov. 10.

Women’s volleyball

Smith College 3, Mount Holyoke 2 — The sibling rivalry between the two Seven Sisters schools went down to the wire before the Pioneers edged the Lyons in Northampton, 25-22, 19-25, 18-25, 25-14, 15-13.

Caleigh Johnson had 20 kills for Smith.

Women’s tennis

Frontier Regional alum Celia Speth was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference second team for singles.

Speth won 11 of her final 14 singles matches and was 5-1 against GNAC competition.
