LaChapelle’s vision

I am so proud to see so many great candidates running for office in Easthampton this year.

The dedication to service across the board is admirable, as well as the level of active engagement by the voters here. Regardless of outcome, Easthampton is well-served by an election cycle like this, to foster dialogue and creative thinking about the future of our city.

For mayor and for Easthampton’s future, I am supporting Nicole LaChapelle, the experienced leader we need. I have known LaChapelle for 20 years and we have worked together on a number of projects, and I know firsthand that she sees the big picture while paying attention to the smallest details.

I know that LaChapelle will dedicate herself to the betterment of our schools, infrastructure and economic development, while focusing on equity and ensuring that all of Easthampton can benefit from our success. Her dedication extends beyond words; she has the plans to address these issues in an inclusive and thoughtful way, taking the long view of Easthampton’s growth.

LaChapelle is a creative and resourceful thinker, bright and articulate, and she knows how to harness resources to accomplish goals. She respects the viewpoints of others and is always willing to listen and learn from those around her.

Her existing working relationships at every level of government — local, regional, state and federal — set the stage to move Easthampton forward. At the same time, she is keenly aware of the need to protect Easthampton residents from the inevitable challenges that accompany growth, like overdevelopment and gentrification.

A woman of principle and kindness, LaChapelle has spent her career in service to others. She will bring Easthampton together and will ensure that this city thrives. In short, she is the right person at the right time for Easthampton’s future.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, I will cast my ballot for Nicole LaChapelle, and I encourage you to do the same.
