In 1935, brothers Prestley and Curtis Blake first opened Friendly’s in Springfield, and the company has been serving sandwiches, burgers and ice cream in its restaurants across the eastern part of the country ever since.
In honor of Prestley’s 103rd birthday on Wednesday, Friendly’s restaurants in the Springfield market including Hadley, Florence, South Hadley, Agawam, East Longmeadow, Palmer, Westfield, Holyoke, Ludlow, Springfield, Greenfield, Chicopee and West Springfield, will be serving their All-American Cheeseburger for just $1.03.
