It’s no secret that I love plants. Naturally, when I came upon this heart-leaf Philodendron cascading down three stories in a Florence Arts and Industry Building stairwell, I was smitten. This plant, like many others positioned in the building’s long hallways, has been there for some time. While meandering through, I often wonder about the mystery green thumb who cares for this manufacturing building forest. Some day, if I’m lucky, perhaps I’ll meet them and glean some knowledge on how to sustain plants indoors through the winter.
