NORTHAMPTON — At least five police officers who graduated from the Western Massachusetts Police Academy Friday evening will join departments in the Pioneer Valley.

Garrett Wojcicki, the newest member of the Northampton Police Department, is a former Northampton public safety dispatcher. The next phase of Wojcicki’s training will be the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program.

Justin Malinowski will serve with the Easthampton Police Department. Easthampton Mayor Karen Cadieux attended his graduation ceremony at the police academy at 1 Armory Square in Springfield.

In addition, the Hadley Police Department will welcome three new officers.

The five officers are members of the academy’s 56th Recruit Officer Class, having completed a 26-week program that includes firearms training and training for motor vehicle stops, domestic disturbances, assaults, mental health-related scenarios and other police work.

The Western Massachusetts Police Academy is part of the Municipal Police Training Committee that provides police training for prospective Massachusetts police.
