NORTHAMPTON – As many as nine snowblowers worth thousands of dollars were stolen from a small-engine repair shop over the weekend, according to police.
Northampton Police took a report of theft Monday around 11:35 a.m. from Advanced Small Engine Sales and Service at 187 Locust St.
The business reported that up to nine snowblowers that had been brought to the shop for repairs were taken, sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. Police said the various brands ranged from a few hundred dollars to $1,500 in value.
A man who answered the business’s phone on Tuesday identified himself as the owner but declined to give his name. He said that, in his more than three years in business, an incident like this has never happened. He said the business is insured and that all affected owners had been contacted.
Northampton Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious around the business during the time period in question to contact the department.
