WILLIAMSBURG — A car crash in Haydenville left hundreds of people without power Wednesday afternoon.
According to National Grid spokeswoman Christine Milligan, a car crashed into an electrical pole and downed wires shortly after noontime off Route 9, knocking out power for 648 National Grid customers.
Milligan said power was restored to half of those customers between 1 and 1:30 p.m., while almost all of the remaining customers had their power restored by 2 p.m.
A handful of customers were expected to be without power until 9 p.m., she said.
