We have been so fortunate to have Peter Kocot serve for 16 years as our representative for the 1st Hampshire District.
He was a tireless advocate for the the people in the communities he represented. All the people. As someone else said, “No one was invisible to Peter.”
In an age of cynicism about politicians, Peter will continue to be an example of the true meaning of a public servant. He always listened to the concerns of his constituents and spoke out against social and economic injustice. Then he went to Boston and worked to make things happen. As a leader he was consistently principled, effective and compassionate.
We extend our sympathy and our thanks to his family for their support of the important work he did, although it often meant a sacrifice of family time.
Peter Kocot will be sorely missed and long remembered for his strength of character, his public service and his generous spirit.
