CHICOPEE — State Sen. Donald Humason, Jr., R-Westfield, has received an award for his support of veterans’ legislation.
Humason, who serves on the Joint Committee for Veteran and Federal Affairs, was presented with the Walter J. Zarichak Legislator of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award by the Hampden County American Legion on March 3 at the Charles C. Kennedy Post in Chicopee.
American Legion Past National Commander Jake Comer gave the award to Humason in recognition of the senator’s “dedication to supporting veterans’ legislation that has enhanced the way of life for all veterans and their families,” a statement from Humason’s office said.
“I am humbled yet proud,” Humason said in the statement. “Any good I can do as a citizen or as a Senator to help our military service members or our veterans I try to do.”
