AMHERST — A student at the University of Massachusetts has died.
Caleb Martin, a first-year accounting student from Franklin, died from injuries resulting from a car accident. Martin, who had also lived in Dakar, Senegal, was a part of the Commonwealth Honors College community.
University officials did not provide any other details about Martin’s death.
“At this time, in keeping with the wishes of Caleb’s family, I have no other information to share,” Dean of Students Cara Appel-Silbaugh said in an email to the campus community. “On behalf of UMass, we extend our deepest condolences to Caleb’s family and friends who are mourning his untimely death.”
