Thanks to the Pioneer Valley March for Our Lives for helping to get folks out to support gun control.
How uplifting to walk with the thousands, young and old, who have “had enough.” The experience left us feeling hopeful. Our hopeful spirit was undiminished at the march’s end, when we, along with 25 or so other marchers, found our cars towed from a vacant and unmarked lot by a Northampton business owner.
As we left the house Saturday, we expected there would be respectful “counterprotesters” at the march. Was the towing a respectful counterprotest or just a mean-spirited and sneaky payback for our respectful protest?
Our determination to work for gun control increased as we waited together in a line at the towing company to each pay the towing charges ($186, including a $25 up-charge for weekends). Saturday’s march was worth every dollar.
