AMHERST – The University of Massachusetts ROTC will be conducting an exercise on campus that involves the use of three or four Massachusetts Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
The helicopters will land on the athletic field at Massachusetts and Commonwealth avenues around 10 a.m.
The university’s ROTC cadets will be conducting their final spring Combined Leader Training Exercise over the weekend at Fort Devens. The cadets will be picked up by the Black Hawks, which will land and shut down, doing what is called a “cold load” prior to departure, according to the university. The aircraft is expected be on the ground for an hour.
