I write in support of Carolyn Ness to continue on the Select Board in Deerfield.
Our Select Board members are also our Board of Health. In issues of town government and health matters, Ness has been proactive to find solutions for the town.
There is no question that Ness works for us. In the time she has held this position, the town has experienced continued growth and that requires thoughtful planing.
A big part of being on the Select Board is the budget. And she has worked hard to help costs in town by working with other districts to coordinate and share costs for services. She has been instrumental in getting state grants to help offset costs. Her concerns for getting the most services into town is impressive.
I understand that there are some people in town who feel that Ness has been on the board too long. But I say, how lucky for us to have a dedicated person who is good at what she does. I only see her as an asset and if someone is doing a great job, why change?
