SPRINGFIELD — A Northampton man is facing three felony charges after allegedly beating and robbing another man in his home in Springfield on Tuesday night

Charles Pulliam, 43, of Jackson Street, was arrested around 7 p.m. Tuesday night on charges of unarmed robbery, assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person and unarmed burglary with assault on an occupant. According to Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh, Pulliam had recently been released from prison and was wearing an ankle bracelet at the time of his arrest.

The victim was found on Belmont Avenue, bleeding from his injuries and was taken to the hospital. The victim told officers he was robbed and beaten in his home, and identified Pulliam as the attacker.

“They knew his street name,” Walsh said. “Police knew who he was. They canvassed the area and found him pretty quickly.”
