Having read your editorial in the May 12-13 Weekend Gazette (“Transparency welcome by Hadley Police”), I find it important to inform you of my own experience with Sgt. Kenneth Hartwright, where he saw to it that I was treated with respect and dignity as well as concern for my age and monetary needs.
He spent time with me not only in person but on the phone, and I sent him a thank-you card with reference to Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz.”
It appears that Sgt. Hartwright did show remorse in his situation with Facebook and that is indeed appreciated. He’ll always remain special in my book and I will never forget his kindness.
