In reading your coverage on the new director of Northampton Senior Services (“As controversy fades, Northampton’s new senior services boss settles in,” May 22), it never fails to amaze me how former so-called loyal colleagues can turn on a dime and make comments to the effect that it is “time to move on.” Wow, what a piece of work is man.
The fact remains that Heather Cahillane was qualified, had the necessary food license, played a tremendous role in setting up Mary’s Bistro at the senior center, and was kind, patient and professional to all seniors who frequented the center. No slouch was she, a graduate of Smith College.
Why not do a front-page story on what Cahillane is doing now — was she herself able to “move on?”
Cahillane should be proud of her legacy as far as I’m concerned. I for one will truly miss her.
