Seeds for the Central/West Boys and Girls Lacrosse Tournaments were announced Friday.
Both the boys and girls teams from Amherst Regional, Belchertown and South Hadley qualified for the tournament. Northampton qualified for the boys tournament.
In the Central/West Boys Division 2 Tournament, Northampton (9-9) is the 11th seed and will play at No. 6 Westfield (11-6) in the first round, Monday at 3:30 p.m.
The Blue Devils faced Westfield twice this season, losing 9-6 and 13-3.
Amherst (9-9) is the 12th seed and will face No. 5 Marlboro (13-5) at Whitcomb Middle School, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Hurricanes are making their first postseason appearance since 2013 and have bounced back after going 5-13 last season.
In the Division 3 boys tournament, No. 9 South Hadley (9-9) plays at No. 8 Assabet Valley (15-3) in the first round, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
This will be South Hadleyโs first postseason playing in Division 3 after moving from Division 2 last season.
Belchertown (13-3) received the 10th seed and will play at No. 7 Wahconah (14-4) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
In the Central/West Girls Division 1 Tournament, Amherst (11-7) is the 11th seed and will play at No. 6 Grafton (13-7) in the first round, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Hurricanes are playing in the postseason for the first time since 2012.
In the Central/West Girls Division 2 Tournament, Belchertown (10-6) earned the ninth seed and will play at No. 8 Notre Dame of Worcester (11-7) in the first round, Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Orioles bounced back from a 1-17 season in 2017.
โHaving a tough season for any team is very draining physically and mentally and can really take a toll on your confidence,โ Belchertown coach Natalie Caney said. โAfter the success of this season I think it really showed the girls that they are capable of much more than they think. Myself and my assistant are very proud of these girls.โ
South Hadley (6-12) is the 12th seed and will play at No. 5 Chicopee Comp (16-4), Monday at 6 p.m.
