How refreshing it was to read the 11 reasons not to have a smartphone in a May 31 letter to the editor (“No smartphone means a decade more enjoying life”).
I deeply appreciated every one, and they resonated with me, for I, too, refuse to be imprisoned by an electronic overlord.
When someone asks me, “What’s your cell number?” I stare at them deadpan and respond, “Why would I have a cell number? I do not live in a jail.”
