Recounts view of America from London

Perhaps my accent gave me away. I was in London standing at a bus stop. A middle-aged woman asked if I’m an American. I said, “Yes.” She asked, “Did you vote for Trump?” I said, “No.”

She then asked, “How can the Americans support that man? Don’t they know how much damage he is doing to America and the world?”

I pointed out that he lost the popular vote by almost three million and that his approval in the polls has never been above 40 percent. She still shook her head in disgust. “Do you think he’ll be impeached?” I said, “No.” Almost the entire Republican Party, in complete control of Congress, backs him to the hilt.

She looked disgusted. In her eyes, it’s not just Trump supporters and Republicans who have lost their minds, hearts, and souls. It’s America.

Almost every hour there is a new tweet or decision that shows that this man is not remotely qualified in terms of knowledge, intelligence or moral character to be president of the United States. Yet, there he is in the Oval Office.

She asked what would happen in 2018. What will happen in 2018?
