I write to invite people of all perspectives to participate in the second community conversation sponsored by Northampton Connects.
At our first event on April 3, 80 people who have varied viewpoints participated in a conversation focused on downtown Northampton. Participants were overwhelmingly positive about the opportunity to explore common ground in a safe, facilitated environment.
The question discussed was “How to make sure that downtown Northampton is welcoming to all people.” Participants were invited to share their unique stories about what makes Northampton’s downtown a special place.
At that meeting, it was suggested that we hold a second forum at a downtown location at a time when a broader cross section of our community could participate. Our next forum will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 20 at Edwards Church, 297 Main St., in Northampton. We welcome all people and all viewpoints. Child care will be provided.
Northampton Connects promotes listening, mutual understanding and common ground by hosting community conversations among Northampton residents who have varied experiences and points of view. For more information you can contact us on Facebook or at NorthamptonConnects@gmail.com.
