WESTHAMPTON — On Monday, Westhampton will reconvene annual Town Meeting and hold a special Town Meeting to decide on remaining budget items and whether to transfer money for snow removal and counsel fees.
The special Town Meeting will take place at 7:15 p.m. at Town Hall and will first decide whether to transfer $35,201.46 from the town’s free cash account to the snow removal account.
The second question will be whether to transfer “a sum of money” from free cash to counsel fees, according to the special meeting warrant.
At 7:30 p.m., Town Meeting will reconvene for voters to decide on remaining proposed fiscal 2019 budget items, which are: vocational tuition, information technology infrastructure upgrades for the Town Hall and Annex, Assessors Field Conversion, gas storage tanks removal/installation, transfers from free cash, and transfer to the capital stabilization fund.
At Town Meeting on May 12, voters narrowly approved a petition in support of legislation that would stop public funds being used for immigration enforcement.
Town Meeting also passed a $6,123,763 budget and approved regulations for a new zoning district that will allow solar energy projects in town.
In the town election on June 2, voters authorized a $135,000 debt override to pay for a bucket loader for the Highway Department and chose Maureen Dempsey as the newest member of the Select Board.
