AMHERST — Warm weather throughout the weekend brought a number of people to municipal parks and caused issues at both Puffer’s Pond and Mill River Recreation Area in North Amherst.
Saturday at 5:36 p.m. at the Puffer’s Pond swimming hole, a family was found bothering others by playing loud music with obscene lyrics. The family, which also set up large tents near the beach, had a grill that was generating smoke. An officer spoke to the family about finding a more appropriate place for their activities.
Several hours earlier, at 12:01 p.m. Saturday, tickets were issued to three vehicles parked illegally along State Street.
Sunday at 5:15 p.m., four people were found drinking Bud Light Lime beer at Mill River Recreation Area. The individuals, sitting at a picnic table, are being summoned to court for violating the town’s open container bylaw.
